October 2026 | A mission update from He Met Me There Foundation
In the Navy, I learned a simple lesson: you don’t wait until you’re underway to find out whether your ship is ready to sail. You check the charts. You inspect your equipment. You know your position. You prepare your crew.
That same lesson is shaping the next chapter of He Met Me There Foundation.
Our vision is still clear: create Christ-centered opportunities for men, veterans, fathers, sons, and families to find honest conversation, genuine brotherhood, and renewed direction. We believe nobody should have to carry life’s hardest burdens alone.
Preparation Is Not Standing Still
It’s easy to look at a ministry like ours and picture the finished retreat: men gathered around a fire, time in God’s Word, conversations that finally go deeper than “I’m fine,” and friendships that carry beyond a weekend.
But before that gathering can happen responsibly, there is work to do. We need sound administration, dependable communication, program planning, safety procedures, partnerships, and the everyday operating support that allows a volunteer-led foundation to do its job well.
Those things may not be as exciting as a photograph of a campfire. Yet they matter. We want to build a ministry that can show up, follow through, and care for the people who trust us.
More Than One Generation
Veterans will always have a special place in our mission, but the need for fellowship doesn’t end with military service. Think about a father and son who haven’t had an honest conversation in years. A young man looking for a steady example. An older man with experience and wisdom who simply needs someone to listen.
We want to make room for those conversations, too. No Man Walks Alone is not limited by age, rank, or the season of life someone is navigating.
Keeping Our Eyes on True North
Scripture reminds us, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17, ESV). That is the kind of brotherhood we’re preparing for: relationships marked by truth, compassion, accountability, and the hope we find in Jesus Christ.
We are also preparing to share the story behind the foundation. My book, He Met Me There, is currently planned for release on November 15, 2026, subject to final publishing approvals. It is a personal testimony about faith, course corrections, and the God who meets us even when we’re far from where we meant to be.
How You Can Help in This Season
Right now, donations to our General Mission Fund support foundation operations and preparation—not the construction of a permanent camp or the purchase of land and vehicles. Your support can help with communications, administration, outreach, volunteer coordination, and responsible planning for future programs.
You can also help by praying for this mission, sharing it with someone who might need its message, or reaching out if your church, business, or community group would like to explore a partnership.
We haven’t reached the first retreat fire yet. But we’re preparing for the day when someone pulls up a chair, tells the truth about what they’re carrying, and discovers there’s room for them.
Jesus Is My True North. No Man Walks Alone. There’s Room for You.
